A Special Dog-Free Foster Home is Needed

Dog Lover - Sunday, September 16, 2012

There is a sweet, gentle, adorable little 2-3 month old pit puppy at ACC with full-body demodex (see pictures below) that Grateful Dogs Rescue has been trying to find a foster home for.  We found out this morning that he was just diagnosed as positive for parvo.

The ACC vet said all he needs is "supportive care" (not lots of medical intervention; mainly TLC).  Although she said that there would be little risk for healthy fully-vaccinated adult dogs in the home, to err on the side of caution we are looking for a foster home without other dogs.

Would any of you, or anyone you know, be willing to take this very deserving pup in?  GDR would of course pay for all medical care. Fill out a foster application at http://gratefuldogsrescue.org/foster-application or email info@gratefuldogsrescue.org

Foster or Adopt Tinkerbelle | A San Francisco Rescue Dog

Dog Lover - Sunday, May 13, 2012
Grateful Dogs Rescue needs a San Francisco Bay area foster or adoptive home for Tinkerbelle, a medium sized adult female Pit Bull Terrier.

Lovely Tinkerbelle was placed in her current home back in January of 2009. Sadly, Tinkerbelle's adopter has decided she needs a new home because of some big life changes he is making. We are looking for either a foster home for Tink, or a new adopter that can commit to keeping Tinkerbelle for the rest of her life. This girl really deserves a forever home.
Tinkerbelle is a a mature dog, but still active. She is about 6 years old now and has been living the past 3 years with her adopter on a sailboat in the Berkeley Marina. Tinkerbelle is a sweet, sweet girl that just loves people and has enjoyed her life on the boat because she has been able to spend so much time with her person. Tinkerbelle has a very gentle way about her. She has always adored children and would be fine to live with kids of any age. Tink is very interested in chasing squirrels and shows a high interest in cats so she would be best in a feline free home, but would love a yard where she could safely be on squirrel patrol :).

A wonderful ambassador, Tink enjoys giving everyone kisses and will greet you at the door with a strong wiggley hello! She is easy to please with a treat and very food motivated. Tinkerbelle still has plenty of energy and bounce and enjoys a good game of fetch. Fully crate and potty-trained, Tink would be a wonderful match for any family with a lot of love and lots of kids (or just one kid!). An adult-only home would also of course be fine, as long as she has the opportunity for plenty of time together with her person or family!

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Tinkerbelle, please complete our online application (click here)
