Spunky Foxy Needs A Foster Home

Dog Lover - Monday, April 09, 2012

Foxy is a seven year old female Jack Russell Terrier; spunky, jaunty, alert, independent but friendly. She is currently in the shelter and Grateful Dogs Rescue needs a foster home until an adopter can be found. She has a nice white coat with brown ears and a wagging stumpy tail. Foxy was curious and confident outside, was OK on her leash and she pooped and peed outside, so seems house trained. She is fine with petting and explored the park, checking in with the Grateful Dogs Rescue volunteer periodically. She mostly came when called, sat for treats, sometimes adding a cute sit-pretty. Foxy didn't notice any food guarding which is what she failed the ACC test for, but didn't officially test her for food guarding or dog-dog. She was good company and gave kisses at the end of the outing.

The Grateful Dogs Rescue evaluator took Foxy out yesterday for the first time and she was very well behaved. She jumps a lot in her kennel to get out, but once she is out she is not crazy active like one would expect for a Jack Russell mix. She enjoyed walking around the yard, set still for the evaluator to brush some of the loose hair out of her coat. Foxy appears to be house=trained, walked nicely on leash even past a dog that was barking furiously at her. She is spayed and can leave now. She is about 17 pounds and 7 years old. She needs a foster and a new name as we already have a Foxy!

If you can foster Foxy, please fill out an application at http://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/Foster-application
