Meet Jessie
Jessie is a very playful, fun-loving dog. She can hike for hours and loves to retrieve balls and wrestle with her squeaky toys. She is 3 years old, housebroken, crate trained, and weighs just over 7 pounds. Jessie is currently being fostered in a home with 3 other small dogs, and a cat. However, she shows NO interest in the other animals, and would probably prefer being the only pet in the household. Jessie is inquisitive, smart as a whip, and very toy and food motivated. However, Jessie is selective about the humans she likes, and does not tolerate rough or invasive handling from people that she does not know or trust. With her foster family, she is an absolute delight. She is attentive, affectionate, and playful. She stays close by when walking on a trail or in the woods off leash, and is very eager to learn new tricks. She does suffer from separation distress, and will whimper and whine when left in the car, or in an unfamiliar place, but is not destructive (she does not like riding in the car). However, when her foster parent leaves for work and leaves her at home she is quiet. Her strong desire to bond with one person would make her an ideal companion for a single person who enjoys having a devoted canine companion.

Meet Teddy
Teddy is a small, adorable German Spitz/Shiba Inu mix. He will do best in a calm home with adopters use to dogs that are a little insecure or willing to learn.  With his foster mom's guidance, Teddy meets lots of people and children during his romps at the beach and lets them scratch his back & butt.  In fact, Teddy loves running around on the beach (he has great recall) and going for romps in the parks and walks around the neighborhoods. Teddy will do OK in a home with other dogs as long as they are respectful.  However, he would be very happy as an only dog as he would love all of his adopter's attention.  He doesn't like being left alone for too long and would like to be someone's companion and sidekick.  He's not a lapdog, but loves to be near his person.  He loves to be petted; particularly back and butt scratches. When he trusts you, he loves to get his head and snout rubbed.  This little guy is quite the affectionate boy and often times will demand you pet him by nudging your hand with his nose!  He is also cat friendly.  Dog savvy older children are okay in Teddy's future home.

Meet Peabody
Peabody is a 7.5 year old male Japanese Chin mix weighing about 18 pounds.  He is friendly, social, and affectionate.  He loves his walks and romps at the beaches and parks.  At times Peabody gets the urge to go fast and wants to chase some running dogs or have other dogs chase him.  He gets along with  dogs of all sizes and plays well with puppies, too.  This confident boy can sometimes be headstrong, so we are looking for an adult only home.
